Edgar Parra
Inspired by hair at a young age, Edgar Parra began styling friends' hair for parties and school dances. Beginning his professional career in New York, Parra was fortunate to have friends in the fashion industry, and quickly became involved in Fashion Week and editorial photo shoots.
Before joining the Sally Hershberger team as a stylist, Parra assisted Tim Rogers at Sally Hershberger for a year and a half. After working with Sally occasionally, Rogers transformed Parra's perspective on hair – how it should not only be styled, but also layered to flatter one's strongest attributes. Parra worked with Rogers on Vogue photoshoots with Annie Leibovitz, and has also styled many tastemakers for the annual Met Ball.
From editorial shoots, fashion shows and television appearances, to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and the Project Runway season finale, Parra has been fully exposed to the world of fashion and beauty. Additionally, he's styled hair for Rebecca Minkoff's Fashion's Night Out and Sung Hee Bang's runway show.
Parra's inspiration for each individual client is based on their lifestyle and facial structure. He believes working with what's already there is key for a great haircut/style. Parra listens to every client, and then combines his/her idea with his own creative touch to create the ultimate look.
